About The Academy
The Conscious Girlfriend Academy is an open-hearted global learning community supporting all women who love women, or want to. Together, newly-out women, longtime lesbians, bisexual, pansexual and queer women, and adjacent non-binary people come together to learn, grow and create the lives we want.
If you're just coming out, or just realizing you're not straight, we support you, we celebrate you, and we've got tools and help for you!
All year long, we've got weekly skills labs, led by an excellent coach, to help you get ready for the dating and relationship life you want, and help keep it healthy and strong.
We have 12-week classes on dating. Live-on-Zoom popup classes on sex. A massive archive of recordings on every aspect of lesbian/queer dating and love. Weekly groups for lesbians 60+, and regular meetings for late bloomers.
More importantly, we've got members from all over the U.S., Canada, and 23 other countries -- warm-hearted lesbians who will listen to you, reflect you back to yourself, and support you in living your best life -- whatever that turns out to look like.
We've got world-class lesbian mentors, teaches and coaches, some of whom came out late themselves. (And what is "late," anyway? We believe you're always in your own perfect time.)
The Academy is a place where you'll be accepted exactly as you are, and get support to move toward any changes that will help you live a fully authentic life. But there's no pressure to change, anything, ever.
Whatever you're feeling, you aren't the only one.
And it's never too late to come out, or to live life in the ways your heart, body and spirit desire.
We have witnessed and supported many women coming out in their 60s and 70s, finding their place in the lesbian community, and finding love.
Whether you're coming out now, or just questioning... came out a while ago but are still trying to find your footing... are trying to make sense of your feelings for a woman... or are in the midst of your first lesbian ("catalyst") relationship or breakup, we've got help for you.
It might feel like you're alone, but you're not.
Have you ever had thoughts or feelings like these?
"How could I not have known earlier?"
"I knew when I was a kid, but I felt like I had to wait until my parents were dead."
"What if I leave behind a perfectly good life, alienate my family and friends, and start over again... for nothing?"
"What if I'm wrong about what I feel?"
"When I start feeling desire, all the old religious programming surges in and I feel dirty, ashamed and wrong. Is it even possible to get over this?"
"I spent years trying to 'pray the gay away,' and it never worked. But it still feels wrong to act on these feelings. How can I make peace with God as I understand Him?"
"I know what I want for myself, but it feels too selfish to do this to my husband/family/kids."
"I'm afraid I'll lose everyone. Could I really survive starting over at this age?"
"I have no idea how to even get started with lesbian dating."
"I thought I was asexual because I never wanted sex with men. Now that I'm thinking about women, the feelings are overwhelming. I'm like a teenager, and I don't know how to cope."
"I've never been with a woman. Would anyone want such a newbie?"
"Lesbian dating is so intense! Dating men never felt this hard."
"I feel way too old to be struggling with issues like these. Am I the only one?"
We've got understanding, support and community to help you find your way.
