Can I take classes a la carte instead of becoming a member?
Many of our live intensive classes are offered a la carte, so you're welcome to start there. But, taking an a la carte class doesn't give you access to our on-demand video library, our live weekly Skill-Building lab, or our group coaching. For that reason, we highly recommend joining as a member.
What if I don't have time to do the classwork?
You'll always get the replays, and can do the coursework on your own time. It's easier to stay motivated because you can come to live skill-building classes weekly and work with your course buddies in between. Our live classes are also moving, impactful and fun. Most of us have an easier time making time for things that are fun!
Are women who are just coming out welcome in the Academy?
Absolutely! At least 25% of our members are women who have come out later in life, or are in the coming-out or questioning process. We welcome all women and adjacent non-binary people who love women or want to, whether you identify as lesbian, gay, bi, queer, pansexual, or with no label at all. Some of our members join while still married to men. You'll find complete acceptance here.
How about women who are trans, bisexual, queer -- or non-binary people?
Absolutely! We warmly welcome all self-identified women or adjacent non-binary people who love women, or want to. We have many participants who identify as bi, queer, pansexual, fluid, or genderqueer, non-binary or trans. You are welcome just as you are, and will receive plenty of acceptance and support here.
What is the membership age range? Where do members come from?
We've had members from their early 20s on into their mid-80s. Members tend to be over 40, with many over 50, over 60, or over 70, but we also have "old souls" ready to do the work in their 20s and 30s. It's a fantastic intergenerational community.
We are based in the U.S. and have members from all over the country, as well as a good handful from Canada. Most of our classes also contain a few Europeans, New Zealanders, Australians, Mexicans and people from various other countries around the world.
